Install on Ubuntu
EqualX is available only for Ubuntu 13.10 (Saucy) and Ubuntu 14.04 (Trusty).
You need to add EqualX repository ppa:q-quark/equalx
1. Method via terminal
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:q-quark/equalx sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install equalx
2. Method via Ubuntu Software Center

Follow this guide What are PPAs and how do I use them? and add in APT line: ppa:q-quark/equalx. Then do a search and install EqualX.

*Requirements. EqualX needs a TeX system to generate equations - specifically the programs pdflatex, gs and pdftocairo.
For Windows the recommended TeX distribution is MiKTeX.
On Windows you may also require Visual C++ Redistributable. Install this only if you get an error complaining about missing MSVCR110.dll, otherwise you don't need it.
On Linux, the binary packages should install all requirements automatically.
